How We Choose Mail-In Buyers
Trade Into Cash is a comparison, not a buyer. We never take possession of your device or your money. That makes the list of buyers we show the whole product — so here is exactly what a buyer has to do to be on it, and what gets one removed.
What a buyer must publish before we list it
| Requirement | Why it matters to you |
|---|---|
| ✓A price for every configuration and condition | We only show offers we can read from the buyer’s own rate card. If a buyer quotes “up to” prices or asks you to request a quote, it is not listed. |
| ✓A prepaid shipping label | You should never pay to sell. Every buyer here emails a label; most also accept a drop-off at the carrier with no box required. |
| ✓A stated price-lock window | The quote you see must be honoured for a published number of days (7–30 across our buyers). You can see it on every offer row. |
| ✓Free return if you decline a revised offer | If inspection finds something different and you refuse the new price, the device comes back to you at the buyer’s cost. A buyer that charges for returns is not listed. |
| ✓A documented inspection process and payment timeline | You should know before you ship how long inspection takes and how you will be paid. We show the buyer’s published speed and methods on each offer. |
| ✓A real, contactable business | A physical address, a support channel and a published privacy policy for the data on your device. |
How buyers stay listed
Prices are re-read from each buyer’s rate card on every rebuild of this site (currently October 2, 2026), so a buyer that drops a model drops off that model’s page automatically. We re-check the terms above on the buyer’s site. A buyer that changes its return policy, starts charging for shipping, or stops honouring its price lock is removed. If you have a bad experience with a listed buyer, tell us — that is the fastest way a buyer gets reviewed.
How we make money, and why it doesn’t change your price
When you sell through a link on this site the buyer may pay us a referral commission. It is paid by the buyer, out of their margin, and the price you see is the buyer’s published price — the same one you would get going to them directly. Offers are ranked by payout to you, never by what a buyer pays us; a buyer that pays us nothing still appears at the top if it pays you the most.
When we tell you not to sell by mail
If there is a local buyer near you, we say so on every page and link you to them. Local usually pays the same day with the price confirmed in person, and we would rather send you there than earn a referral. Mail-in is for when there is no local buyer, when the top mail-in price is meaningfully higher, or when you would rather not meet.
